ABOUT US

I started as an independent education consultant in 2016. Since then, I have helped over 250 clients around the world make their way through the American, British, Canadian, and European university admissions processes with confidence and purpose.

I graduated cum laude from Columbia University in the City of New York with a BA in Political Science and History and went on to earn an MSc in Global Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science with merit. My first-hand experience at leading universities on both sides of the Atlantic gives me unique insight into the intricacies of the global higher education landscape. More recently, I earned a graduate Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA with distinction.

I began my career in London, handling media relations, reputation management and issues preparedness for a number of multinational corporations and governments. Through my background in public relations, I have spent years helping people and organizations in the public eye craft messages that enable them to put their best foot forward, even in moments of great turmoil. Hence, communicating with both parents and students, and balancing the preferences of both parties to bring about positive outcomes for all stakeholders, comes naturally to me.
I encourage my students to think about who they are, what matters to them, and what they have to offer to colleges, and support them to translate this into a narrative that is both compelling and authentic. Through working with them, my clients find their voice, and together we develop an application in which this voice comes through loudly and clearly.

I set up an independent education counseling practice alongside my career in communications back in 2014. Since then, I have worked with over 150 students to help them identify their best-fit universities across the US, UK, Canada and Europe. Based out of London, I now divide my time between Avid Education and Latymer Upper School, where I am Assistant Head of International University Advising.

My own perspective of the higher education landscape has been shaped by diverse experiences across three continents. I graduated cum laude from Tufts University with a BA in International Relations and Sociology, during which I spent a year at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) as part of the Tufts study abroad program. During this time, I worked as a Peer Advisor at the Tufts Career Centre, where I helped students to craft their resumes and cover letters as well as prepare for interviews. I also graduated with a Distinction from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) where I earned an MSc in Politics and Communications and hold a post-graduate diploma in Media Law from the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Research (NALSAR). I am currently completing my Certificate in College Counseling from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).

Prior to my work in education counseling, I worked as a communication consultant in London, Dubai and New Delhi advising companies like Mastercard, Virgin Group and Estee Lauder Companies as well as high net-worth individuals and government representatives on how to build, promote and protect their brand. I enjoy channeling these skills into my work as I can help students to create compelling narratives and identify their strengths and interests in order to build an application and personal brand that truly reflects their potential.

Throughout my education and career, I have recruited, interviewed, and mentored students and interns. In 2019, I left the legal/corporate world to pursue both public-spirited and creative endeavors, including tutoring and counseling high school and college students. I have helped students with admissions into highly selective institutions in the US and Canada and, more recently, also worked as an admissions associate in the engineering department at the extremely competitive Cooper Union in New York City.
After completing my schooling in Karachi, Pakistan, where I grew up, I graduated with Distinction from Cornell University with a BA in 2011. Subsequently, I worked as a legal assistant at a prestigious international law firm in Washington, DC, before attending Columbia Law School. After receiving my JD in 2015, I spent four years as an associate attorney at the top-ranked law firm Hogan Lovells in New York City.
As an education counselor, I love working with students to help identify their skills, passions, and individual stories. My personal background, education, and professional experience has provided me with a unique perspective that allows me to cultivate students’ ambitions in the arts, sciences, or humanities.
